In this 4 week virtual class we will explore clay hand-building projects that you can easily accomplish from your kitchen table! Students will learn practical at-home storage methods for clay and how to set up functional temporary workspaces. We will go over pinch, coil and slab methods of construction and move through four hand-building projects using these techniques. This class will also cover decoration techniques including carving, graffito, and mashima. Students will finish this class with excellent understanding of the groundwork of hand-building with clay, allowing them to continue their own practices at home with confidence!
